Cyanotype
“Machine Made”
Technology is a tool. It gives us power but does not tell us how to use it. With technology advancing faster than ever, it is not far off to imagine what might be one day. If we continue to develop our technology without wisdom or prudence, our servant may prove to be our executioner. However, I’d like to believe that we all wish for something greater.
Through use of mixed medias did the combining of prosthesis to body come about. By utilizing the 19th century photographic cyanotype printing process were these blue imaged prints produced.

“Castles in the Air”
“I’ve wasted time building castles in the air, if there’s peace to be found I won’t find it there”. These lyrics come from the song “Castles in the Air” by: Architects. While the literal depiction of such structures in the sky are something of fantasy, the metaphorical meaning behind these words and photos convey another story. The spectacle of such castles being suspended in mid-air is that of a dream. A sight so inconceivable to mankind that it can otherwise be thought of as an unattainable vision. Similar to the desire for world peace, in today’s day and age it is hard to say we have experienced anything but. These castles in the air, this concept of unattainable peace, is often theorized but also far from becoming a reality.
